Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe original site of St Teilo's Church - geograph.org.uk - 291790.jpg |
English: The original site of St Teilo's Church For many years this was the site of St. Teilo's church (Llandeilo in Welsh). Built in the 13th century, the church building was extensively added to over the years. However, although the church grounds and graveyard survive, the church is no longer there. It was in danger of being damaged beyond repair by age, neglect and water (being on the Loughor's flood plain), the building was removed brick by brick and is now being rebuilt at St. Fagans National History Museum near Cardiff. The most recent graves in the churchyard date back to the early 1920s - the churchyard is now quite derelict. 291795 |
