m themiddle range, but several promising outcropsboth of siliceous and nonsiliceous ore havebeen prospected to some extent. The siliceousoutcrops are prominent at the south end of therange, north of Packard Peak, and are ap-proximately in line with the Gemini ore zoneof the Tintic district. They consist of graycherty quartz replacing coarse-grained Missis-sippian limestone of the Colorado Channeltype. Tho principal prospects from which anydata have been obtained are the Farragut andDe Prezin. Assays of material in the quartzreplacement have shown low values in gold, silver, and copper, and up to 11 per cent lead. One small shoot said to assay 7 per cent bis-muth was found in the De Prezin property. Nonsihceous ores are on the east slope of therange, about 7 miles north of Packard Peak, 418 ORE DEPOSITS OF UTAH. on the Tintic-Humboldt property. The char-acter of the ore and gangue minerals, so far asexposed, and the country rock, are the same asat the Scranton mines in the western range.
