English: The old quarrymen's track above Rhiwlas My maternal great-grandfather and his sons were amongst the quarrymen who daily used this track on their way to and from Chwarel Cae (later known as the Penrhyn Quarry)a distance of 4km each way. My grandmother was born during the bitter strike and lockout of 1875 which caused great hardship for the workers and their families. |
