| Description |
English: The old pier at Stairhaven The pile of boulders is all that remains of Stairhaven pier. The posts were intended to break the force of the waves and protect the seaward side of the pier, but in the 1950s a storm made a breach in the pier wall. No attempt was made to repair the gap and over the years further storms have reduced the pier to rubble. Stairhaven is known locally as The Craws Nest. |
