| Description |
English: The old main line. This was formerly the alternative Midland Railway main line from London to Nottingham, via Oakham and Melton. It now has no regular traffic, but remains open for access to the Old Dalby test track.
Looking south east from Waites Bridge. The lowly status of the line today is characterised by the fixed distant signal simply painted on the board. Also visible are a typical cast-iron milepost 1280548 and the remains of the chimney of a platelayers hut. |
