| Description |
English: The old and the new - two stiles on the path to the top of Vivian Quarry The stile on the left is a relict of the Victorian age - two lengths of slate and half a dozen bolted iron rods. A century and more later, it is still functional but can be slippery on wet days. Health and Safety considerations therefore demand that a new wooden stile be erected along side it for those not so used to rustic styles. My guess is that the old quarrymen's stile will be there when its modern counterpart is long gone. |
