In theearlier part of the Work fome varieties of the Peacock were intro-duced, and confeffedly with fatisfaction to our purchafers. TheTurkey which we now introduce may not indeed poffefs an equalclaim to our coniideration ; it is, neverthelefs, an important bird, andmuch too interefting to be omitted. The Turkey in a wild ftate was originally a native of the Americanwoods, from whence it was introduced into Europe, and cultivatedwith uncommon fuccefs. To a form confeffedly uncouth it unites a highly lingular and veryvaried appearance, and the feathers in various parts of the plumageare highly ornamental.
