Summary

[edit]
Description

On finding this juvenile of common wall lizard on the verge of crossing this narrow bridge made of a single leaf, I couldn't help to remember the iconic duel imagined by Tolkien between Gandalf the Grey and the Balrog of Moria, a nameless terror the author defined as "Shadow and Flame".

Reptiles are often associated with all that is evil in the world, yet in this case, I am certain this young hatchling strikes a better resemblance with the brave nature of the hobbits who led to Sauron's ruin.
