English: The mouth of the river Axe, on the south coast of the English county of Devon. The river mouth forms Axmouth Harbour and, constrained by a shingle bank, curves to the east underneath Haven Cliff before reaching the sea. Axmouth Harbour, and the whole of the Axe estuary, is in the civil parish of Axmouth, even though Axmouth village is some 1 mile (1.6 km) upstream from here. The resort town of Seaton is much nearer, but in this shot is out of sight to the right. |
