Summary

[edit]
Description Another look at a part of the 560km long Kinabatangan River snaking along its course. The Kinabatangan is known for its remarkable wildlife and fascinating habitats such as limestone caves at Gomantong hill, dry land diptero-carp forests, riverine forest, freshwater swamp forest, oxbow lakes and salty mangrove swamps near the coast. Large portions of the forest have unfortunately been cut down for palm oil plantation, so the wildlife has been relegated to disjointed pockets where the forests still stand. This kind of compartmentalization has hence resulted in the obstruction of the free movement of the animals and leaving them confined to their respective pocket.
