Not understanding Englisli Iwas not able to form any opinion of theirintellectual powers, but I hope if I havethe opportunity to return to Boston whenI know their language, to be able to judgefor myself of what I have heard concern-ing these two men. During the day which I passed atBoston I saw as much of the town as Icould; it seemed to me extremely pretty.It is quite large, and shows that beforethe war it must have been a charmingresidence. It is in the best possiblesituation, has a superb harbor, and froma high piece of ground called the Beacon,(Beacon Hill), there is one of the mostbeautiful views in the world.
