English: Satire on French everyday life: a large kitchen a clergyman stands talking to the innkeeper who wears large wooden shoes stuffed with wool and a hat with a large brim, his long hair hangs loose; a lrge dog sits at the clergyman's feet. On the left, a thin postillion standing tall takes a pinch of snuff from his box while a woman beside him bows to the clergyman, tucking her hands in her apron pockets; in front of her a boy in wooden shoes, hands in pockets, stares at the clergyman. Behin an old woman wearing glasses sits at a table by the fireplace with a glass and bottle in front of her; a large pot hangs over the fire. On the wall are pasted notices, including an "Ordonnace de Monsgr Le Duc de Choiseul Grand Maitre des Postes et Relais de France Sa Majesty ...", popular religious prints and another of LouisXV "le bien Aimé" 1771
