Description |
English: A kitchen, with mostly red wallpaper. the wainscoting and base of table are painted apple green. A single light bulb is on the wall. A simple refrigerator is in the corner. The kitchen represents the relative simplicity of life at 219 North Delaware Street. This portion of the home may date to immediately after the Civil War. The Trumans made modest updates to the home after Harry Truman's presidency. Tradition holds that Harry Truman himself picked out the unique wallpaper. The simple Government Printing Office calendar dates from 1982. |
