Then, put the needle through the exact same place where it wasinserted for the last stitch, and draw it through the material, to the side underneath ;now work all the necessary successive stitches, in the same manner; and continue,until the work is completed. 14. The Piped-Buttonhole.—This buttonhole is made on heavy goods; andwhere very large buttons are used. We simply apply the elements and principles of piping, given elsewhere, to the buttonhole. Any one will understand, that it issimply finishing the buttonhole with piping; and thus binding it, neatly. 15. Loops.—In thin dresses, such as muslins, grenadines, etc., we sometimesdispense with buttons for closing, at the front; and substitute therefor loops, whenthe trimming at the front, consists of bows.
