Most ofthis writing has, however, been done by industrious adventurersof particular localities, who have not always observed the strictestregard for exact truth, but have magnified features of sceneryand climate that were pleasant and favorable, and sought tocover up or pass unnoticed those that are unpleasant and unfa-vorable.
