Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe great ruby, Broadway poster, 1899.jpg |
The Great Ruby. Direction, Jacob Litt; Arthur Collins' production; written by Cecil Raleigh & Henry Hamilton. The original Drury Lane Theatre, London production, from Daly's Theatre, New York. Promotional poster for the theater play. The New York Times review: "The Great Ruby," now on view at Daly's, possesses the priceless element of vitality. It throbs with living interest from beginning to end, in spite of the unnecessary confusion of incidents in the story. With very little care the authors might have avoided the slight bewilderment caused by their loose treatment of the story between the sleep-walking episode (which is theatrically effective in spite its essential absurdity) and the encounter of the detective and the thieves in the pseudo Countess's apartment. |
