In reference to the richness of the Klondike field, Mr.Ogilvie says that the rich fields in that district, such asMiller, Glacier and Chicken creeks, have been practicallyabandoned for the Klondike. Men cannot be got to workfor love or money, and the standard of wages is $1.50 anhour. Some of the claims are so rich that every night afew pans of dirt is sufficient to pay all the hired help.
