Description
English: In the Igbo community, the friends of the groom, known as "Umunna," play a very important role in the traditional marriage ceremony. They are responsible for organizing the wedding and making sure that all the necessary rituals are performed. They also help to negotiate the bride price, which is an important part of the ceremony. In addition, the Umunna also provide financial and emotional support to the groom and his family. They are considered to be the groom's closest friends and allies, and they are expected to show their support throughout the marriage. The Umunna are also responsible for helping to raise the children of the marriage.
