The late FrankGillard used Lord Lonsdales Villager at Belvoir in1885, and to-day the blood comes through BelvoirVagabond, 1899, one of the best strains in thekennel for work and good looks. Successive mastersof the Blankney, Mr N. C. Cockburn, Mr EdgarLubbock, and Sir Robert Filmer bred to Belvoir,where it is possible to get all that you want. Coming to the present when Mr R. Clayton Swanundertook the mastership in 1912, with Ben Capellreturning to his old kennel as huntsman, another 120 THE FOXHOUND OF THE XXth CENTURY interesting period in the breeding of hounds maybe said to have commenced.
