Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The former Barnwell Junction
A southbound London train approaching Newmarket Road bridge. To the left is a scrapyard, while the disused track to the right of the train was where the Mildenhall Branch joined the main line. Barnwell Junction Station was behind the trees. Latterly this line shrank to be a siding serving an oil depot. In 2021 the scene is quite unlike the still-used branch junction which Ben Brooksbank photographed in 1963: TL4759 : Barnwell Junction and Station.
