| Description |
English: The first cut is the deepest As a boy it was my priviledge to go round the farms with my dad, (who was an AI man); and, wherever we went, he would point out things of interest. In 1945 the vicar hired two men to trim this tree. Unfortunately, neither was much of a reader and they began to saw it down- look carefully at the bole. Luckily a parishioner was passing. He told the men to stop but they refused. The anxious bystander then ran all the way to the village and summoned the cleric. They then ran hard back to the church and averted a tragedy. |
