| Description |
English: The end of the Mitford Castle PH, Cadogan Terrace, E9, Latterly known as the Top O'the Morning Free House, named after a racehorse, behind which ran the railway to London docks until the early 1980s. The plaque [ref below] will no doubt be replaced in the new housing development. Business perked up during the 2012 Olympic Games, but it closed by 2013. pubshistory.com/LondonPubs/Bow/MilfordCastle.shtml
On the far right, centre, is one of the very few vestiges left of the North London Railway to the docks which diverged at Hackney Wick from the Stratford line and ran behind the houses at Cadogan Terrace before crossing the canal where I am standing. There were two tracks, but only one was ever in use in the late 1970s .shortly before closure.
