This was the first point of slave export from the Elmina Castle to abroad

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A very narrow doorway where slaves were forced to pass through (whether slim or fat) in chains. From this door, slaves were taken out of the castle into a mini-boat to be exported. No slave returns from this point and hence the name "Door of no return"
Dagbanli: Dun'nɔ muɣuliŋa n-nyɛ li ka bɛ daa yi mirisiri daba ŋɔ (bɛn' bara ni bɛn' kɔɣisi zaa) yihira ka di nyɛla bɛ ga ba la zɔligu. Dabili kam ŋun' daa yi ti paai ni mi ku lahi labi o nyaaŋa, di zuɣu ka bɛ ti li yuli ni "du'nɔli din ka nyaaŋa labbu"
