nd the pa-tience of man in panting up and tottering downthis monstrous hill. It seemed as if he hadbeen blind for years, not to have conceived ofthe improvement before. No time was to belost now. He lifted up his many-tonguedvoice, and put forth his many-handed strength,and in the process of a few months a road wasconstructed, curving round the south side ofthe aforesaid hill, which after all, proved to bebut a few rods longer from point to point, thanthe other. The district were no longer at varianceabout the long needed edifice. The afore-mentioned improvement had scarcely been de-cided on, before every one perceived how thematter might be settled. A school-meetingwas soon called, and it was unanimouslyagreed to erect a new school-house on thenew road, almost exactly opposite the old spot,and as equidistant from the two Ends, it wasbelieved, as the equator is from the poles. Here Mr Henry taught the District Schoolsomewhat as it should be ; and it has neversince been kept as it was.
