| Description |
English: The dirtiest job on site. Task: prepare to connect a 4-foot diameter brick sewer approaching a pumping station, that has been at least half-full of sewage for the last 100 years or more, to the new sewer tunnel that is being constructed nearby. So you've dug the shaft around it, broken off the top, and there's a pipe hanging from the crane. But someone has to get in there in their waders and stuff sandbags around it to force the sewage to go into the new pipe. I admire the guys who did it - the smell was bad enough! |
