Inflammation of Vulva (erysipelas, cellulitis). There are the usual signs andsymptoms of acute inflammation. Owing to the large amount of loose cellulartissue, the inflammatory infiltration may cause very marked swelling. Hematoma of Vulva. There is rapid swelhng following a puncture with a hypo-dermic needle or a fall or other injury. There is marked enlargement, painful onpressure and presenting in a short time discoloration from blood pigment. There DIAGNOSIS OF CYSTOCELE 19) is no fever nor erysipelatous redness nor otlier evidence of acute inflammation.Fig. 248 sliows a liematoma of the vulva. Edema of Vulva (from heart or liver disease or from pressure by a pelvic tumor).This produces a boggy, painless swelling which pits on pressure. There is noevidence of acute inflammation or of hematoma. There may be accompanying
