Warak Ngendhog was upheld in the dance as a symbol of the harmony of the people of Semarang City which consisted of various races. Warak's dragon-shaped head symbolizes Chinese descent, Buroq's body symbolizes Arab descent, and the goat's leg symbolizes native Javanese. |
