English: The cushion of Barking Town's churchwarden, St Margaret's Church. In the front pews are four cushions. The church used to have four churchwardens but now has three (most churches have only two). This cushion shows the Market House, which once stood in front of 912683. The right to appoint the vicar is shared by All Souls College Oxford, the Bishop of Chelmsford, and the churchwardens. {Source: leaflet "Look at St Margaret's Church". } |
