As at Camperdown, the staple products of thedistrict are forage, potatoes, mealies, French beans, and generalgarden produce, while dairy and other departments^of farmingare well in evidence. In summer, Sidonian oats grow well,and yield from thirty to forty hundredweight of oat hayper acre. In winter, Cape oats thrive, and give about twentyhundredweight per acre. Potatoes are largely grown, yielding,under the favourable climatic influences of the district, fromtwenty-five to fifty sacks per acre, according to the season.
