Description
English: Buckerell Church, Devon. In the floor of the nave of the church near the entrance to the chancel is the ledger stone of Mary Culme who died in 1669, wife of Henry Fry of Buckerell and a daughter of Richard Culme of Cannons Leigh in the parish of Burlescombe, Devon, by his wife Lydia Courtenay, a daughter of Phillip Courtenay of Molland, Devon. Arms: Fry (Gules, three horses courant in pale argent) impaling Culme (Azure, a chevron ermine between three pelicans vulning their breasts or). The Fry family once owned the Deer Park, now a hotel, nearby.
