English: The city walls and the Kaleyard Gate A stylish ascent to the city walls can be made here at the end of Abbey Street. The small opening seen in the wall is the Kaleyard Gate. This gate had been locked at 9pm every night for over seven hundred years until the practice was discontinued recently. |
