Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe church of St Maurice - C18 headstone - geograph.org.uk - 859311.jpg |
English: The church of St Maurice - C18 headstone. With hourglass. St Maurice has its tower - also serving as a porch - offset to the southwest, sharing this feature with twenty-odd other churches in Norfolk. In order to save on heating, the chancel was partitioned off from the nave by a hardboard wall > 859296. The font > 859301 dates from the 14th century; there is a stained glass window by Wm Wailes (d. 1856) in the north chancel wall and the communion rail dates from the 17th century. The church > 859295 - 859297 is open every day. For more information see: http://www.norfolkchurches.co.uk/briningham/briningham.htm |
