Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe church of SS Peter and Paul - fragments of medieval glass - geograph.org.uk - 861804.jpg |
English: The church of SS Peter & Paul - fragments of medieval glass These fragments, inset high up in one of the south wall windows, are the only stained glass in the church.
The church of SS Peter & Paul > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861761 has a round tower that is capped with a lead spike. Extensively restored during the 19th century, and because of the absence of stained glass windows - apart from a few small fragments of medieval glass high up in one of the south wall windows (seen here) - the interior is bright and airy > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861773 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861808. There is a C15 font > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861814 with a cover that is dated to 1638 > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861816. The pulpit > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861780 dates from 1635. Most notable, though, is the fine collection of medieval bench ends > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861784 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861787 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861797 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/861801 depicting animals, musicians and scenes from everyday life. The church is open every day. For more information see: http://www.norfolkchurches.co.uk/tuttington/tuttington.htm |
