Through Salem, as the Savior passd,Their robes the crowd before him cast, And wavd their palms on high ;Young children, too, with loud acclaim,Around the Friend of children came,And joind the exulting cry. While priests and rulers heard with scorn,His praise, on these weak voices borne, Filld all the temples space ;Thus shall it be from age to age,The young shall all their powers engage To spread his wondrous grace.
