So onthey went to Whitehall. And there, on either sideof the archway leading to the Mall, stood whatseemed to Bobby the very grandest looking menhe had ever seen. They wore gorgeous uniforms, shining helmets, and jack boots. And their mus-taches were almost as heavy as the plumes upontheir helmets. A PIRATE SHIP /^^NE of papas Chinese coolies told me that^^-^ once when he was a seaman the shipthat he was on was chased and almost capturedby a pirate proa. Ship ahoy, shoutedthe captain of the pirate proa, only he said itin Malay words. But the Dragon of Gold just crowded on more sail, even when a shotfrom the pirate ship crashed across her bow.And although the shots from the proas gunstore her rigging and sails, the friendly windsoon carried her beyond reach of them.
