| Description |
English: The central chamber of the Barclodiad-y-Gawres tomb Excavations by Powell and Daniel in 1956 showed that a cremation fire had been lit in the central chamber. This fire had been extinguished once the flesh had been burnt with a soup made of fishes, frogs and field mammals. The site then had been "carefully covered with limpet shells, so that all the bones survived" (Frances Lynch Gwynedd HMSO 1995 pp12) |
