Government examination of 133 stomachsshowed that 31 contained poultry or game birds, 52 otherbirds, 11 mammals, 1 frog, 3 lizards, 2 insects and 39were empty. MMawk^ IPuck^ or Faleon.—Length, sixteen to twen-ty inches; extent, three feet; above, sooty back; feathersmore or less edged with rusty; back of neck lighter, gen-erally bulf streaked with brown; wings, brownish black,barred on the inner webs with bufi: or cinnamon; tail simi-lar, with a whitish tip; under side of body dull w^hite orbuff, longitudinally streaked with brown; old birds havethe fore breast nearly or quite devoid of streaks. It nests in hollow^ trees and on rocky cliffs. The eggsare two inches by one and three-fourths inches in size,of a dirty white to a light brown, with darker spots ofthe same color, and either three or four in number.
