English: The beach south of Mappleton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. This coast line is subject to coastal erosion of 2m - 4m per year. The concrete structure in the foreground is probably the remains of a Second World War pill box formerly manned by gunners/observers to prevent a German invasion on the coast here. The Holderness coastline is littered with such structures. |
