Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The beach at Telscombe at low tide The expanse of brown rock below the shingle beach is, in fact, chalk. It takes its colour from the algae which provides food for vast numbers of limpets, winkles, whelks etc in thousands of rock pools. Be warned though, the tide comes in fast and can trap you on the wrong side of the breakwater. There is an escape ladder, formed by a series of iron rungs, near the cliff end of the breakwater but it is not suitable for young children.
