Were hopingto collect enough information to make a small, but very good monograph onthe train. Im writing to many Civil War Roundtable groups to continue our search forsome specific items as given in the accompanying list. Wed also like to find reenactment honor guards who might be interested inworking with us at the twelve cities where the exhibit will stop.Interestingly President Lincolns guards were awarded the CongressionalMedal of Honor, only to have them rescinded by Congress in 1916. We willprimarily be stopping in major shopping malls and refurbished railroadstations during a five day stay in each city. Were also looking for local historical societies to join us in sharing eachcitys Lincoln history. Many cities had cermonies like planting memorial treesas the train passed* some o-f which still stand. Information about the Lamson Family o-f the Toledo* Ohio area whose relative MyronLamson had his picture taken onboard the -funeral car just be-fore it left Washington. In1929 this family still had a glass plate negative of Presidents car which we would liketo borrow to make a photo mural. Information about Frank B.
