| Description | (Note to my Facebook viewers- Just before this picture, I had uploaded two very brief videos of my guide and later I tapping on the Gaval Dash, or musical stone, which produces a metallic or musical sound when tapped gently with a hard piece of rock. Those videos have disappeared from the album in Facebook, despite they having uploaded correctly, and so these videos are available on Flickr only). Back to the scene on hand, despite being barren and dry, I somehow like this scene.This is a scene looking out from the mountain on which are the petroglyphs of Gobustan. Most of the terrain around is dry and arid as seen here, and no, despite the appearance, those are not sand dunes but exposed rock. Also in the foreground you can see an unsealed road running past the mountain. In the distance is the Caspian Sea. If you observe carefully, you can also see a small township in the distance as well as oil storage tanks in the distance at extreme left. Time to leave Gobustan now.
