G. Doorway of Maniuageyvara Temple at ManinageA^rura. MANINAQECVARA. 107 wall an image of Kartikeya and on the northernwall that of four-handed Gauri with a lion underher feet. In the south-western portion of thecourt-yard there is an image of eight-handedBhima. She has a club in a left hand and a drink-ing cup in a right hand. All the other handsare broken. There are some ancient images onthe top of the temple also. Out-side the templetowards the north-west, there is the figure of afemale votary on a large broken pillar. Besidesthese, there are two seats made of granite stoneoutside the temple. Their size is 3 X 2 x 1. This temple issituated one mile away fromthe sea-shore. The beautiful and artistic imagesof this place bear a remarkable similarity withthe ancient images of Hindu gods and goddessesdiscovered in Java. It is not improbable thatthe artists of Kaligga went from here to Javato make these images. The figure of Kamalafound on the coins of the Gupta Kings of Gaudais exactly
