He was theprogenitor of the Essex Lincolns, as he in all likelihood wasof the Norfolk Lincolns with whom we are here concerned.Beyond this point the records do not carry us. The pioneer ofthe Norfolk Lincolns, whether Adam of Great Yarmouth oranother, doubtless hailed from the city or shire of that name;but the exact time when he made his way across the Fenlandsand the Wash, and acquired **a local habitation in thesturdier county by the northern sea, is lost in the mists of an-tiquity.
