Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe aftermath of Space Shuttle Endeavours arrival (8014613225).jpg |
A look at the westside United Airlines hangar (formerly Continental), the day after Space Shuttle Endeavour arrived. The cranes outside were used to dismount Endeavour from its 747 carrier aircraft overnight, and Endeavour will remain inside the hangar until 12 October, when she will start the two-day, 12-mile journey to California Science Center. The hangar gained the United sign, with its current Disco Ball branding, just this month, partly to prepare for Endeavour's arrival and the resulting press coverage. In the distance is the remote stand area for international flights, accessed from Bradley International Terminal by bus. While Air France normally uses Terminal 2 at LAX, its Airbus A380 flights must use the Bradley Terminal as Terminal 2 is not capable of handling the A380. Here, an A380 is about to depart as Air France 65 back to Paris Charles De Gaulle. The Korean Air would move soon too, though both it and its hometown competitor Asiana won't fly back to Seoul Incheon until after midnight. F-HPJB, Airbus A380-800 (Air France) registration unknown, Boeing 777-200ER (Asiana Airlines) registration unknown, Boeing 747-400 (Korean Air) |
