English: A view of the south side of the 54 metre high Yorkshire Wheel, that was installed at the National Railway Museum in York. It was sited 53°57′35.81″N 1°5′44.42″W / 53.9599472°N 1.0956722°W / 53.9599472; -1.0956722 next to and in line with the southern wall of the museum's Great Hall. Most of it is obscured here by the walls of the museum's workshop building that adjoins the Great Hall. Construction started in March 2006 and the wheel operated from 12 April 2006 until 2 November 2008, being dismantled shortly afterwards. |
