OrganicChemistry is treated according to the manner and extent ofRemsens excellent text-book on organic chemistry. Manyof the typical compounds are prepared before the class,and their reactions carefully studied.

Qualitative Analysis is taught in the laboratory, so far asto require the student to be able to analyze a mixture ofthe salts of the more common metals. The experimentalinductive method is employed and the course is systematicand well adapted to cultivate habits of observation. InQuantitative Analysis the student makes a number of typicaldeterminations by gravimetric and volumetric methods. The course in Physiological Chemistry consists of recita-tions and a practical laboratory study of the typical pro-teids and carbohydrates, and of many of the proximateprinciples of the animal body, with the chemical behaviorand composition of the various animal tissues and fluids,especially the digestive juices and the urine. The course in Clinical Chemistry includes a study ofabnormal urine, the sterilization and predigestion of milk,the methods of examination of stomach contents and othermethods used in clinical and sanitary examinations.
