ANY of our readers will be greatly surprised and inttrested to learn that the largestwinery plant, not only in the United States but dn the world, is located in Cali-fornia, across the Bay from San Francisco. It forms the centre of the great wineindustry of that State. Such an institution is a monument to American enterprise, well as to the California wine industry, which represents a total of 250,000acres of vineyards, and millions of dollars interested in wine cellars, buildings, machinery,warehouses, and stocks of wines, etc. A short account of tha great establishment atWinehaven will therefore be of much interest.
