Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Wolverhampton Wishbone - geograph.org.uk - 1454590.jpg |
English: The Wolverhampton Wishbone The Midland Metro (opened 1999) is the tram line linking Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton, via West Bromwich, Wednesbury and Bilston. In this picture, the line is crossing the Ring Road as it approaches its Wolverhampton Terminus. The huge curved structure known locally as "the wishbone" provides the strength for the line to cross the sunken landscaped walkways inside the large ring-road roundabout. http://www.tgp.co.uk/news/articles/wishbone.html
The red brick building seen here to the left of the centre is the police station at the St George's terminus. The red-brick building to the right is the Express and Star offices. |
