Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The White Hart, Penkridge Built in 1565 by the Earl of Warwick, the golden chained white hart sign (badge of Richard II) suggests an earlier medieval existence. Legend has it that both Queen Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots visited the inn. Although playing host to only one stage coach it had stabling for 40 horses which suggests a high quality inn serving well-to-do clients in the early 19th century. The frontage was completely rebuilt in 1891 along its original Tudor lines. (Details from the Penkridge Village site : http://www.penkridge.org.uk )
