75 ONE IN A DOZEN. Fred Van Sicklen is characteristically tart inhis make-up of the Hay & Willits advertise-ment in this issue, and makes a few points thatare in no wise blunted. In a side note he says: Unlike the average maker, they do notclaim their wheels to be the best made, butthey do claim that their $75 line is one of apossible dozen bicycles built in the UnitedStates and absolutely high grade in every re-spect. Of that dozen eleven list at $100, theOuting being the only one at a less price. The $75 Outing is constructed of the bestShelby seamless steel tubing. It has 1 1-4 inchhead, 1 1-8 frame triangle and 3-4 inch rearforks and stays. The wheels are fitted withFairbanks wood rims, the spokes are Excel-sior piano wire, which can be twisted and tiedin a bow knot and then straightened againwithout any damage having been done tothem.
